You will be amazed at how much more whole and complete you can feel after experiencing this gentle, nurturing touch that includes the vulva,* pelvic floor, and pelvic bones. Even though we will be in a group, you will curl up in a separate nest with your partner and slowly, with deep listening, have your vulva cared for and attended to in a way you may not have known was even possible. The groundedness, vitality, power, and spring in your step you can feel from an enlivened pelvic floor is profound.

*(Vulva = the external parts of a vagina). **(Yoni = Sanskrit word for the feminine life-creating regenerative and reproductive organs, also means “source, origin, fountain, place of birth, womb, nest, abode, and fire pit of incubation.”)

The patriarchy has other-ized, medicalized, commercialized, hyper-sexualized, pathologized, ostracized the vulva and vagina. Many of us have internalized this and, at some point, our source, our core, was reduced to “down there.” We can remind each other how to be fully connected to the root of our power.

Our vulvas are the seat of such creative juice, pleasure, & relaxation. What if trading vulva massage with your friend were as normal as hanging out, going for a walk, or catching a movie together? But oh-so-much-more satisfying, opening, & connecting.

Through slow-paced, heart-connected exercises, we’ll explore:

– dropping into a heartspace with your partner before engaging physically
– tending to the the whole yoni (full body massage and care)
– pelvic floor massage
– yoni-gazing and appreciation
– a variety of techniques for manual, (external) vulva-pleasing (internal exploration will be for another playshop!)

General layout:

We will do some embodiment/relaxation practices to get comfortable, watch the demo, then you will cozy up with your partner and be gently guided through your experience. One person will receive first, with the receiver requesting exactly the touch they want and don’t want.  (Part of this process is learning how to identify, value, and communicate your desires and aversions.)  Then roles will switch and the receiver now has the honor of becoming the giver – the devotee – following your receiver’s direction and listening to your own intuition. In either role, you are free to stop, leave, or express feelings (laugh, cry, growl, etc.) whenever your body calls for it.

For whom:

This playshop is exclusively for people with vulvas, and is open to all genders & orientations. Please register in pairs: come with a partner you already have trust in – a supportive friend, partner, or another interested participant who you are down to deepen with through this work. When you register, please let us know the name of your partner if they are registering separately. (We will host another Vulvassage to include non-vulva-bearing givers at a later date. Email us at YumPractice@gmail to get added to our list.)

COST:  $60-$25 per person (sliding scale in accordance with your means)

TESTIMONIALS

“The Vulvassage workshop was a very nourishing and opening experience. To experience non-sexual touch in a private and intimate area was one of the most healing experiences I have had to date. I never felt shy or afraid, in fact the confident and loving touch during the demo set the space for all of us to explore in a loving, open, and connected way. I enjoy and appreciated the humor and lightness as well.”

“The journey led me to a transcendent sense of contentment and calm, and one of the deepest senses of satisfaction and being-attended-to that I have felt. I came to know, experience, and love my body more, on a physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.”

“I have really enjoyed my experience of taking classes from Adele and Amanda. I felt they created a safe, informative and inviting environment for me to explore a new area of connection possibilities with my partners. They created a setting for me that provided solid values on consent, learning and growth within oneself and others in which I felt I could continue to practice on my own after taking their classes.”

“I attended the Vulvassage workshop and the space held for everyone present was full-hearted, encouraging and inviting.”

“One of the most memorable experiences of my life was attending Adele and Amanda’s Vulvassage workshop in 2016 with my partner. During the workshop, I was impressed with their ability to communicate and to create clear boundaries, both spoken and embodied.  A beautiful balance was struck between showing and experiencing; this afforded me a full body, hands-on experience, rather than merely increased head knowledge.”
